Media Employer of the Year Masterclass 2008
Wednesday 16th April marked this year’s Media Employer of the Year Master Class and it was a resounding success. It hosted four delightful speeches from equally inspirational members of top media agencies across London who came together to present their inspirational ideas.
Sedef Onar (Talent Director – Agency Republic) presented a beautiful video that summed up agency life in their fabulous offices in Battersea. She spoke honestly about the ethics and morals of an agency that has grown to over 100 employees in a very short time and won everyone over with her story of how an internal email asking if anyone “fancied Thai food” lead to 35 Republicans visiting a restaurant on the Kings Road for lunch.
Rudi Symons (Talent Director – Zenith Optimedia) spoke about the importance of employers focusing on staff care and how winning the MEOY has affected life at Zenith. A very energetic and fun speech by Rudi gave us all an insight into why this year’s finalists are so special.
The fascinating story of Susana Simpson (Limelight PR) was next up. A young professional establishing her own agency at the ripe old age of just 24, she has 16 full time members of staff and lost only 2 members in 6 years. Inspirational from a small business perspective.
Finally, Katherine Roseveare (Co-Founder and Agency Director of Intelligent Marketing) spoke about the “commitment of Green Initiatives and reducing your carbon footprint”. The green issue is becoming more of a factor in the decision making process for talent these days.
All in all it was a great event and hopefully our clients will come away with inspiration to enter next year’s MEOY.
