£80,000 - £85,000

Oxfordshire – 2 days in the office


A fantastic opportunity to join an independent medical communications agency as a Scientific Director. 

 

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Actively lead the editorial and medical writing function motivate, stimulate,  train the team and inspire them
  • Work with the team to agree and deliver clear process for optimal content generation
  • Help the team deliver projects to the brief, scope, within timelines required and flagging early any potential barriers that could arise to achieve this in resource discussions
  • Oversee with senior team members the content review process for quality control of all materials, ensure they are adhered to before materials are sent to clients
  • Provide strategic council and act as strategic lead for client programmes, pitches and RFPs
  • Strategic thinking for the editorial and scientific writing team as a key leader within the management team
  • Generate and review robust, fair and balanced scientific/clinical content
  • Distil complex science into clear, well-structured, and meaningful communications
  • Translate the science with integrity, empathy and impact
  • Monitor clients’ pipeline for growth opportunities

 

 

To be considered for the role you will match the following :

 

  • Extensive medical writing experience having held previous senior writing roles such as principal medical writer, senior scientific adviser and senior medical writer
  • Strategic medical writing experience including publications, ideally with a track record of working on pre-launch, launch and mature brands, developing scientific platforms, messaging, publication planning, core claims materials and medical programme planning and delivery
  • Management and training experience.
  • Previous pitch leadership experience with a proven track record of success
  • Experience in a wide range of therapy areas including if possible
  • Educated to graduate level in Life Sciences. PhD is preferred
