Principal Policy Advisor  

£45,000

Leeds or Newcastle – 2 days in the office 

A fantastic opportunity to join a national membership body and play a key part in to shape policy as Westminster works to level up the country.

You will be responsible for:

• Consulting a diverse set of members to identify and act upon business priorities. This includes chairing meetings, providing updates, developing briefings and seeking member input.
• Developing regional-specific policy
• Leading civil servant and stakeholder engagement including developing relationships
• Distilling regional political and policy insight for members so they can make more informed decisions and
• Working with to successfully implement regional policy campaigns
• Proactively working with colleagues to fully exploit synergies with policy teams on topics such as decarbonisation, innovation, skills, as well as commercial, membership and media opportunities

To be considered for the role you will match the following :

·         Excellent knowledge of the policymaking process in UK government, regionally and locally

·         Exceptional understanding of politics and enthusiasm for regional policy issues

·         Understanding and expertise required to start and build upon external stakeholder relationships

·         Knowledge and experience with regional policy
